What to Expect From Your Health Check

The NHS Health Check is a comprehensive, cost-free assessment of your overall health, focusing on potential risks that may lurk beneath the surface. This proactive check-up sheds light on crucial health indicators and can help you tackle health problems before they escalate.

One of the key outcomes of an NHS Health Check is the empowerment of individuals with information about their cardiovascular risks. Understanding these risks can lead to informed decisions and positive lifestyle changes, ultimately enhancing overall well-being.

Understanding Your Health Risks

Discover potential risks such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and stroke, and receive personalised advice on how to mitigate these risks effectively.

During the check-up, we will discuss things like your lifestyle and family history, before taking vital measurements such as your height, weight, blood pressure, and a blood test. These measurements offer insights into potential health issues and provide a foundation for your personalised advice.

A report will then be sent to your GP that includes:

  • Blood cholesterol test
  • BMI calculation
  • Blood pressure measurement
  • Lifestyle assessment
  • Your personal health goals
