Need a scan for a musculoskeletal (MSK) condition but you don’t have a referral from your GP or health care professional? Our rapid access service put you in direct contact with our physiotherapy team who can assess you for suitability and refer you to our onsite imaging department for MRI, Ultrasound, Injections and more.

What are Musculoskeletal (MSK) Conditions?

Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions affect the muscles, bones, and joints. Common MSK conditions include:

  • Back pain and spinal issues
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sciatica
  • Joint pain (e.g., knees, hips, shoulders)
  • Sports injuries
  • Tendonitis
  • Muscle strains

How it works

  1. Start by filling out our simple enquiry form to request an online assessment.
  2. Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing details about your assessment and payment information
  3. Your online assessment will be conducted by one of our highly experienced physiotherapists. They’ll carefully evaluate your condition and recommend the most suitable next steps for your care.
  4. If it’s determined that you need scanning, we’ll refer you to our onsite imaging department. You can expect to be booked in within 7-14 days.
  5. After referral, you’ll receive another confirmation email with all the necessary details about your scan appointment and payment information.
  6. Following the scan, you’ll have a thorough review session with the physiotherapist to discuss the results in detail.

  • Duration: Initial assessments typically last around 30 minutes and are conducted online via video call.
  • Available Time Slots: We offer assessments on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30pm to 3:30pm and Friday mornings from 08:30am to 10:30am
  • Costs:
    • Initial assessment with Physiotherapist: £35
    • Additional costs apply for scanning:
      • MRI Scan: £395
      • Ultrasound: £105
      • X-ray: £105
      • Guided Injection: Pricing varies (please refer to our injection page for more details)
    • Final Review with Physiotherapist: £35

Our goal is to provide rapid access to assessments. Typically, you can expect to receive an assessment appointment within 7-14 days of booking.

How long is the assessment and when will it be?

Your online assessments will be up to 30-minutes long and take place either Wednesday afternoon between 1:30pm and 3:30pm (last slot at 3pm) or Friday morning between 08:30am and 10:30am (last slot at 10:00am). Once your appointment is scheduled, we’ll send you a confirmation with details on how to join the call.

How soon will I receive my scan after the assessment?

Following your assessment, scans are scheduled promptly within 7-14 days, ensuring timely access to diagnostic imaging.

What if the physiotherapist determines I don't need a scan?

If our physiotherapist determines that a scan is unnecessary, they will discuss alternative options and provide personalised recommendations for your care. This may include simple management strategies, further evaluation, or referrals to other healthcare professionals as needed.

What types of scans do you offer?

We offer expert referrals for MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray scans, ensuring comprehensive diagnostic imaging for various health concerns.

Do you offer Injections?

We offer Ultrasound Guided Injections via our onsite consultant led service. Services include; Steroid Injections, Hydrodilatation, Ganglion Aspiration, Join Injections, Plantar Fasci Injections, and Achilles Tendion Injections. Should you require, our Physiotherapists are capable of referring you here as well.

Are there any preparation requirements for the scans?

Depending on the type of scan, there may be specific preparation instructions provided to you before your appointment. Our team will ensure you receive clear guidance tailored to your scan.

Can I choose where to have my scan done?

Our team will coordinate your scan appointment at our onsite facilities for your convenience. We strive to make the process as seamless as possible, eliminating the need for multiple appointments at different locations.

How will I receive my scan results?

Your scan results will be provided to you either onsite or via email, along with a comprehensive report. Our team will guide you through the results and address any questions or concerns you may have.
